Truck Tires - Where to buy?

I am about to buy some new tires for my truck (285/75R17). Leaning towards BFG ATs. Where is the best (cheapest) place to buy them in the Jackson area? Does anybody recommend another brand that will last long and run a little cheaper?

the last 4 sets of tires ive bought came from one of these two places, depending on the tire and who had them available. I think that tirerack ships out of shreveport and will be here tomorrow if you bought today. Then take them and get mounted and balanced. I shopped all over jackson the last time I bought a set of A/T tires and still came out $100 ahead buying them offline and paying someone to mount them. I think I paid $12 a tire to get mounted and balanced.

I got the same tire at Tire Depot on Old Fannin two weeks ago for $1,096 out the door - mounted balanced and front end alignment.

you won't find a better tire than that one. They are expensive but i've gotten 90k miles out of them rotating every oil change. I got 70k out of the BFG mud terrains.

I called everywhere in Jackson and they had the best price.

tirerack.com is a good place, but make sure the place you get to mount them is "reputable" by tire rack standards or tire rack will not honor the warranty if anything should happen to the tires. If you buy them from a tire shop in Jackson, their warrenty covers the tires. Gateway Tire Service is considered a reputable tire shop. There is a Gateway on Lake Harbor Drive and one out at Flowood on Lakeland Dr. There are probably a few more I don't remember right now. I got mine mounted at the Gateway in Yazoo City. Hope this helps.

I've bought online recently and only saved $100-150. Then I got to thinking about it.......most places will rotate your tires for free as long as you have them and as long as you bought them there. Plus, if something should go wrong with them you don't have to worry about anyone pointing fingers at each other. I'll probably pay the little extra from now on and get them local.

bfgs all the way. got 107,000 miles out of a set of all terrains on a half ton z71. i bought a set at sams club for lifetime balancing and roadside assistance. that makes it easy to find time to balance and rotate them, just do it when you go shop at sams

Pete Patrick's Tire in Brandon off of Hwy 471. He can get anything and has always treated me fair. The service after the deal is what seals it or if you need a boat or lawnmower tire fixed.. As long as he is running his shop I'll buy from him. His boy ain't the same guy as Mr Pete so I'll probably move on after he hands it down.

I went with the hankook dynapro atm2 this time 10 ply 300 cheaper and with 30,000 cant tell there is a mile. Running around the farms wanted something a little tougher.

I have Hankooks on my truck, but was told the other day by the guy I buy tires from they are in short supply in the US right now. Due to some terror tax that Obamy put on imported tires or somethin like that. I need a new one and he called 5 different warehouses, was told by one that is nation wide, there are only 24 in the size I need in the US having to get one shipped in from California. Another $400 out the window.
