iron clay peas

I heard that the deer love iron clay peas and i am interested in planting some. Can i broadcast them or do i have to drill them in? What is the maturity of the peas? I'd like to have them mature around October 1 for bow season

Yes they love them. I broadcast mine when i plant them. But thinking of using a two row planter this year for them.

if they dont eat them before they mature you better hope your sittn there when the pods form cuz they will be all over em

If you broadcast with a big tractor spreader you run the risk of breaking the pea, you would probly be better off drilling

i always disk the ground good, and plant them with a atv spreader and drag them with two piecies of rail road iron welded between chains.

I always have good looking pea patches.

bout to get ready to plant some now, also going to wait till august and plant some austrian winter peas, they should last through a frost.

I planted some a few years back just disked the ground and spread em and then covered em and I think they did real good. the deer kept them mowed down real good..

Pea patch is coming back this year. got i just about ready to plant. Got saw tooths loaded, and three persimmon trees pumping out. and those two pear trees are ridiculous.

Gonna be a buffet out there!
