Stuff like this...beating kids and women...always just makes me see red for days! I've been in a bad mood since I read this.

Doesn't help that my daugher is getting married in a couple of months, either. I did have a "walk through the tall cotton" with that young man, even though I think a lot of him. I told him that I would never interfere with normal arguments they had, but that if he ever had a thought of taking a hand to her, he really ought to think twice because there would be two tragedies then. His Momma would be picking out a burying suit for him and my family would have to come see me in prison. He didn't smile, and neither did I.

In cases this cut and dried there should be no deals made. If the district attorney cuts this guy a deal he should be relieved of his duties. This guy deserves every second of the maximum sentence for every charge. What a piece of scum.

Umm, I know one of the ADA's that works there. (rather personally and have stated so on this board before but that is another story.) I have no doubt that if given the opportunity, she will try to castrate this guy in every legal means.

If it would have been my daughter I would have first got her to a hospital and saw to it she was taken care of. After that she would have given me a name and directions to the house. The police would have been called after I was finished.
This is my greatest fear as a father. No matter what you do, there's that chance your daughter will end up with someone who treats her badly. If that happens to mine, I will not just sit by and watch. I've seen first hand how it can be, I grew up with it. If I ever end up in prison, it will be because of my daughter.
