braided line

Do any of you guys use braided line on spinning reels? I usually use only braided on my baitcasting reels, never tried it on spinning reels.

I've got it on my spinning reel I fish with at the spillway. Generally speaking, if I'm not bumping rocks I'm not catching fish. With the braided line I'll usually straighten the hook if I get hung and not lose as many jig-heads. Don't seem to have any problems out of it.

I don't have it on any at the moment but I have in the past. It does well, doesn't get bird nests as bad, and casts like a dream.

I've had as small as 6# diameter braid on my ultralight spinning reel. Casts like a dream. If you ever do get some twist in it, get it straightened out gently. Otherwise, it will end up in a knot and you'll be cutting off a lot of line.

But a 3# bass on ultralight tackle is fun stuff!

I use braided as a backing on my offshore stuff. However I still prefer my mono for both baitcasters and spinning tackle.

Garbage ? right ....give my lake just a bit when the lillypads gets going and bring that mono ...you'll wish ya had that braid on while i am pullin them buckets mouths out and you are breakin off.....lol

I use fireline on mine. I know its not braided but not regular ol line either... It seems to do good though I don't claim to ba a proffesional fisherman with a pole by any means. I'm more of a jug, trottline, and bud light kinda fisherman really.

Fireline is little stiff not actually a braid but a micro fiber...i use to use it for yrs till Power Pro came around....get ya some #50 PP and you'll thank me......

Never said i know everything but have alot of experience with both lines in fresh and salt water...was using the fireline down in tampabay catchin tarpon under the bridges till power pro came to play...when ya guidin ya want to use the best for ya clients as to keep the repeat biz

Stren Superbraid and Power Pro are on all my reels that I use for my charter clients. I also use braid exclusively for the redfish tournaments that I fish... Braid is the shizzle when you are fishing around structure (oysters, stumps, barnacles and rocks) and when you need muscle to turn them big boys head around!

When specifically targeting speckled trout, I'll add about 3ft. section of 15lb flourocarbon to reduce the line visibility.
