Ben A, I may reside in Tupelo, but my heart still belongs to the Delta. I was born in Greenville, and raised in Arcola and Ruleville. I still have a family home there, family business, a hunting camp, hunting land and leases, and I "winter" there every year during the duck season. During the "offseason", I work a good bit in the Delta and probably spend about 2 weekends per month in the Delta on the average. Heck, I am in the Delta more than some who live in the Delta.
Now that we have established my Delta "heritage", apparently your lack of the same is showing, or you would know all about the "Po Monkey Lounge" outside of Merigold, MS ----a fine establishment or what some call a "juke joint". It is the real deal ---a piece of history and blues culture featured in many national/regional publications such as National Geographic, Living Blues mag, Rolling Stone etc. It has recently been featured in a collection of photos of American music history taken by Annie Leibovitz. A trip to Crawdad's and the Po Monkey Lounge thereafter is an experience to be cherished. Nothing better than a cold quart of beer at the Po Monkey. You really should get out more.

You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.
