It's Official. Dadgum Yankee is heading South!!!

Postby OldRook » Tue Apr 20, 2010 7:50 pm

Well it's official, accepted the offer of employment today in Columbus, MS

Flying down with the wife as planned Sun to look around and get an idea of where we are going to live

Wowser! Good stuff, but a bit sad too, we are going to keep our home up here until retirement or we get tired of maintaining two homes, but that's the least of our worries..

Good marina with inside storage near Columbus I can leave my boat at? Good fishing around Columbus?

and if any of you all know of a good hunting club looking for members I would be much interested, would have a 19 year old son for a couple of weeks in the winter (xmas break from college)

so one or two memberships.. I know nothing about such things as we hunt a family farm up here.. But i am a quick learner!!

They have Crawfish in columbus? going to get some if they do!

The only question I can answer is the fishing. The Tenn- Tom waterway is very good, plus will not be far from Pickwick or the COE lakes.

Lived there for 9 years, nice town. There used to be a Marina just north of the Lock and Dam that you need to check out. My parents still live south of there on the river.

Welcome to the best kept secret in the country. We'll have you drinking Ice Tea, Barbeque spare ribs (pork), saying things like 'fixin', and adding sylables to your words in no time.

There's a deer club about 30 mins away (+/-) that's looking for members right now. PM a gentleman on here "MSDuckmen", his name is Danny. Here's a link to a topic he recently started.
