I guess he's getting old and slow. He'd have caught you back in the day. :P :P :P :P

Hambone is definitely feeling old after the thrashing those old River gobblers provided this weekend! But as Swamprooter pointed out, he did get caught. I keep my eye on those who tread upon sacred ground!

Whitesand, i aim for top of hips...if i shoot low i bust a leg or legs, if i pinwheel it, massive bleeding and broke hips, if i shoot high i bust the spine, if i shoot left..i heart lung shoot it( depends on if it is facing left or right, if i shoot right,,gut shotbut...i could bust a wing on exit.........i always shoot through my birds and shoot a bow poundage that will do it..basically i shoot same stuff i deer hunt with..i don't change a thing......good luck

Thanks Bone and others...had almost same setup Sunday but bird spooked on Jake instead fighting it like the deceased two days before. He was 10 steps away and supposely coming right past me for a shot....it's a crap shoot sometimes..kills are far and few between..most of turkeys i eat are store bought turkeys! this way of hunting is not for everyone for sure and most of time i fail.

Swamp - I totally agree with you on shot placement. The thighs are a very under emphasized target when you're talking about archery equipment and turkeys. I first heard this suggest by Will Walker on a Primos video. I figured as many as that rascal has shot with his bow, he has to be doing something right! Congrats on your bird and best of luck on the rest of your season!
