Muscadine Farms WMA?

I heard they were cotted up with ducks. Its supposedly a little known place that the govt took over a few years back and there has been no hunting on it for about 5 or 6 years. they allow the farmer to plant their crops which consisted (supposedly) this year of corn and soy beans. Since it was privately owned up til about 5 or 6 years ago and was forfeited due to some kind of tax evasion scandal or something all the pumps that were installed to pump up the land remained and are being used as we speak to fill up the land inside the levee system that du installed for the former landowner. They also have a levee system around all the woods surrounding the fields and there are already several established blind locations scattered throughout the tract which is a little over 6,000 acres i am also told. The same pumps that fill up the fields fill up the woods as well. OH CRAP MY ALARM CLOCK WENT OFF...I MUST HAVE BEEN DREAMING AGAIN! In all reality I have never heard of that place sorry.

Muscadine Farms WMA held a lottery this year for duck hunts. Supposedly consist of 600 acres in catfish ponds. Only way to hunt there is by being picked in the drawing. I'll be going Dec. 8,Dec. 22, & Jan. 10.

Spoke with the biologist there today and he said need water and ducks. He said they really needed about another year before it would be ready to hunt. They do have some pumps on some locations and he hopes to have enough areas for everyone drawn to hunt. His advice, call before you come!!!!
