Please tell me how it would have benefitted more hunters or the herd?

Wrong! I called my nearest senator, who happens to live here in Vicksburg, and he explained that it should not be up to them to decide the seasons, as they rarely have time to do any hunting. I completely agree. We, as hunters, should decide. Everyone who buys a big game license in the state should be sent a ballot...And then based on the results, do accordingly. jmo

Law of averages dude. Folks that dont normally bowhunt would be in a tree Nov 1. More oppurtunity since there are more gun hunters. I didnt claim anything about the herd, although im sure the total kill would increase some, which i would think that if the state is truly overpopulated, an increased harvest would prove to be benifical.

I agree.. But that is not how it is structured.. In the current situation you have 1 man deciding what laws go into effect.. That is not what I want to see..

So we just say damn the bow hunters then? We have 2 1/2 month's to gun hunt, is that not enough opportunity? I tell you what, pick up a bow and you can get in a tree on Oct. 1st and guess what everybody in this state has that opportunity.

Nobody said the legislature should decide...the mdwfp is merely asking for the permission to change it based on their research and professional opinion.

If you love something then you should be emotional about it, maybe you should try loving something too.

Some people amaze me at how DUMB they can be..... sheez  Deer get freakin spazzzed out once guns go to blazing and the chances of taking one with a bow go way down.... Gun hunters have 2 1/2 months to do their damage leave the month and a half of Bow only alone..... I havent picked up a gun in 6 years and dont plan on ever hunting with one again...

ADAME you should try it

Not only that, but the woods at my camp become a lot more crowded once gun season starts. Instead of 3-4 guys bowhunting I'm dealing with 15-20 gun hunting.
