Do the humane thing...Waterboarding
From an email: Waterboarding
Watch it and understand why we have the best military in the world. There is no permanent damage done but the response is immediate. A much more humane and effective way to obtain critical intelligence quickly without brutalizing the prisoner. Sure beats electrocution, ripping off finger nails, acid showers, whippings/beatings, cutting off limbs, removing eyes & tongues, drilling out teeth, dislocating shoulders, burning, and other ways the Muslims use.
Playboy jounalist Mike Guy underwent waterboarding by a trained member of the U.S. military in the site's new Lab Rat feature. He bet that he could endure 15 seconds of the interrogation technique used by the Bush administration on al Qaeda chief Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Abu Zubaydah. Watch the results.

Re: Do the humane thing...Waterboarding
I'd call it highly persuasive but not torturous.

So that's what all the fuss was about. It's crazy to think how nice this government wants our soldiers to treat our own enemies

This guy could not last 5 minutes so would it have been torture if you were made to last 15 to 30 seconds or longer in that position. Your body and mind being subjected to this as many times a day as it could take for days, weeks or even months? Some of the tortures our POW's suffered in Vietnam did not leave lasting damage either but OUR POW's called them torture.

Torture to me is a loosely defined term within everyone's brain, each brain is different. Whether it by physical or psychological, some things considered torture are nothing more than a mental "electrical breaker" if you will. Opera, Oprah, and figure skating all happen to be forms of torture in my mind.

Some of them did suffer lasting damage and some lost their lives, and I'd say those two categories trump the former.

Ok, if you think this is torture lets start letting the freakin terrorist have a choice. Waterboard or pull each fingernail off one by one, or electricution, or beating. We will see where waterboarding ranks.

effective persuasion, but definatly not torture
if thats torture, whats the differance between that on our enemies and our MDWFP making all of our WMAs draws, both incite a subliminal fear of an actual happening, or loss, just saying

Not torture. There is no lasting physical or mental damage from it. You have to remember we are dealing with people that will send their own kids into a shopping mall, strapped with explosives, and blow them up. Pouring a little water over their face is being a little nice to them, IMO.

I dont give a damn if they water board everyone of the fellows, but I got a friend that lets say had lots of practice at it in the late 60's an early 70's, he says that it is awful.
