My jerk string is set with last decoy at 30 yds. I TRY to shoot at that or closer but it doesnt always work out that way.

I agree 40 to 60! But that also why we shoot heavy loads and tight chokes! You can kill ducks just as far with steel as you can lead if you know how!

Yes!

We practice at the shooting range so we can make responsible, ethical shots in the marsh.

If more hunters knew their limitations and chose their shots according, then there might be less skybusting.

   You are assuming that skybusters are actually hunters. In fact, they are just dummies who have a shotgun, lots of shells, and no clue as to what they're doing. :P :P :P

Bad depth perception and cross dominant is a bad combination- most shots less than 20....alot less.

I wish I could hit them that far out. You've probably been at it a lot longer than me. Maybe I've knocked down some at 40 yards, but even thats a stretch for me. I need to hit the range more.

Any of you guys ever though about practicing at the range with the same stuff you shoot at ducks? You know it's a hell of a difference in the performance of lead target stuff and duck loads! Might be why you cant reach out and touch something!
