Well, I'm currently working on my muscles that allow me to sit for long periods of time! I don't care what's playing...I still ain't gonna get up to go change the record!

get rid of the ipod...i finally did. drove me nuts listening to music...i knew each song was 3-5 minutes, so i was always keeping track of that in my head and time would seem to stand still...quit listening and now a 15 mile run flys by! seriously.

I never ran with music till I started marathon training. I ran 14 miles w/o music no problem but 3 hour runs will wear down on me so I got the ipod out about a month ago. Dont have many songs but I got some beasty boy stuff, ac/dc and a few other random songs. I got to add to the list though b/c I am about tired of the beasty boys now.

When I was runnin on the treadmill, I'd play ACDC the Back in Black and I'd also listen to Guns and Roses Greatest hits. I eventually ended up running for a full hour and both cd's lasted the whole time...or very close to it so it worked out well.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
Re: Running Tunes
I enjoy Sun Harbor's military cadence CD's. The Airborne#1 is my current favorite. They are entertaining, patriotic and some cadences are downright funny. I can listen to the same one over & over and it doesn't drive me crazy, yet. The disc begins with the get-up-n-go cadences and winds down with the "gettin' home" cadences, so it works best as whole for me and not a cherry pick download.
Sun Harbor is probably out of business but they are for sale/download everywhere.
C-130 rolling down the strip.
Airborne ranger gonna take a little trip.
Mission top secret, destination unknown.
Don't even know if I'm going home.
Stand up, hook up, shuffle to the door.
Jump right out and count to four.
One thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four.
If my chute don't open wide,
I've got a reserve by my side.
If that one should fail me too,
Look out below I'm coming through
Classic stuff.

Re: Running Tunes
I have always run with an ipod. I have difficulty going without one. I have a wide range of music on mine though. It really depends on what you like.
I have some country, some 80's rock, and some of the 90s stuff.
Most of mine is the Rock from the 80s... Cool stuff... AC/DC, BON JOVI... that type...
