New Experience

It's the middle of February, snow on the ground and steadily falling yesterday. For those of you who decided not to get out and do a little training, i say ya missed it. It was purty cool watching the dogs run across a snow cover field. I've trained in rain before, but the snow was definitely a first. Once was enough though, now i want it to warm up and melt so we can get after it.

I did a little myself....Bailey couldn't figure out where her bumper went when it landed in the snow! The little dude just wanted to explore the new white stuff on the ground but he did pretty good in the new stuff. Can't wait for it to warm up so we can all get after it!

While we were setting up yesterday, we were thinking a/b how crazy we were to be out there training til almost 6. I just decided we have more to get done than everybody else...hahaha

and B&D, i threw a hup hup for lake(as if she needs those) and she couldn't find it, made me realize how hard those blinds were with white bumpers...hahaha

It was definately a new experience.. Ole Knight didn't seem to mind one way or the other. He just ran when I told him to run and stopped when I told him to stop.. I guess finally something just hit me, that I actually could make something out of knight if I put the work into it. Trying hard to get him ready to run season at West Tn. We will see...

haven't figured out what it is you do, but pretty sure, i would not call it working.

if you spend more time taking breaks than you do working, what do you call it? cause, everytime i see you, you are getting in an elevator headed away from your alleged office, to get coffee, or get lunch, or do whatever it is you do with your time.

Trained for the first time today since before Thanksgiving. I hate the time. Can't get it in good this time of year. Should be interesting this weekend. How do you get a dog ready in 2 trainings.

Training in the snow was definitely a new experience for pups and handlers. We had dogs running right over the top of the birds and not winding them. The snow just sucked down all the scent right into the ground it seemed. Made for a real good marking test though...
