new to the south
I hear that heartworms are really bad down here. And being from Michigan I was just wondering if it would hurt a dog to give him two heartworm doses a month. Lets say advantage multi on the 15th ans intercepter on the 30th.
You have to do what you love to do, not get stuck in that comfort zone of a regular job. Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it

There are alot of us on her that do just that. I have been doing it for over 3 yrs. and to date Nash has been clear every check up. However, check with your vet

I am as far down south as you can get and have not had any problem with heartworms. I us Ivermic and only give once a month, but every twice a year I double it to kill other worms. The biggest thing is, will your dog be outside all the time. Mine is not out at night, only during the day.

dok84,
I think everyone else will agree with me that it's critical you don't miss a dose down here, especially during the warmer months.
Maybe I'm overly cautious, but I put a reminder in my Blackberry and on my calender at home.
I dose with 1% Ivomec .1ml per 20lbs twice a month. 1st and 15th...like clockwork
