The Difference Planting Makes...

Postby duckhunter328402 » Tue Jan 26, 2010 2:16 pm

Hello,

I am new here but I have a question that you might be able to help me with. I have a duck hole about 5 miles from the Miss. River and when we hunt it we have anywhere from several hundred to 1,000+ ducks fly over it. The hole is not planted now. The ducks aren't all that high but they rarely come in. Will it make much of a difference if we plant it in corn, millet, and milo for next year? Will this help to attract some of these birds? Thanks.

Ummmmm......Yes. It will definitely help. We planted our hole in millet this year and great early season success but things tailed off toward the latter part of the year. We've usually planted beans in the past and the opposite was true.

tuscaloosa,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for all the questions, but how much of a difference did it make? As in, how many more birds were you able to kill as compared to when it was planted in beans or not planted at all? Thanks man.

Heck with planting, just bait it when season is over.

Plant it in corn. Right before the season drag it down to the ground so dem ducks can eat on it. Ducks can't really levitate. Bring lots of shells and bribe money wit ya and have fun.

Why is my mouth so dry this morning, when I drank so much last night?
