Places to Eat in Jackson, MS
I will be working in Jackson, MS next week. Will be running around in the evenings Monday through Thursday and wanted to get some suggestions from you boys on places to eat. I prefer the local dives with good food and a lot of atmosphere (hate the national chains). Let me know what ya got and thanks in advance for the advice.
Re: Places to Eat in Jackson, MS
Cherokee off the 55 N frontage rd, north of Northside Dr.
Frisco Deli in Pearl
Tico's, (expansive ala carte, but good) on County Line Rd.
McBees on Lakeshore Drive towards the rez.
Hal and Mal's on State Street downtown.

I think the best place to eat in Jackson right now is Olga's on the frontage road of I55 in the shopping center with Habana Smoke Shop. Excellent. Bravo has good "sort of Italian" in Higland Village off I55, and Char in the same place is good, but overpriced.

Huntington grill is what you meant to say

Actually GC its pure Italian...but it's Northern Italian....not Southern Italian....which is what we gringos affiliate with "Italian" food. Northern Italian isn't as "tomato'ey" as Southern....just fyi

Another one I always forget is Basil's in Belhaven off of Fortification skreet....its good, reasonable priced, and you can bring your on bottle as well.
Re: Places to Eat in Jackson, MS
Lot of it just depends on where you are mainly.
-Basil's in Belhaven off of Fortification for lunch or dinner...at dinner you can bring your own bottle
-Keifer's
-Little Tokyo on County Line Rd or Nagoya in Madison off of 463 if you're into sushi
-Hal & Mal's for lunch
-Hickory Pit BBQ on Old Canton Lane
-Majestic Burger
+1 on Walkers, the Mayflower and the Elite.
