matador- I take it then you are looking at a Remington 870 Wingmaster,

here in Lincoln, yes those are more expensive than a Nova
but a 870 Express being more than a Nova- then you're being ripped off

Bought my first 870 SM last year, put on a turkey choke, fiber-optic magnetic sights, and will probably shoot this gun during Turkey season 'till I'm pushing up daiseys!! Absolutely love it. Have never killed more than 1 bird in any given season. 2 years ago killed none. With the new 870 set-up (and a little luck) got 2 birds last yr. Super sweet!

I have both, and I prefer the NOVA. The 870 is great, I have 2, and they will rust. I think the Nova is higher quality metal. The Nova shoulders better to me. I have never had problems out of the nova. I have had problems with action in my 870 shooting 3 1/2 shells. The action just got slow from it sitting up, and it didn't shoot 3 1/2 very well. The nova has never had that problem. They are both great guns for the money.

The 870 that you have will kill any turkey in the woods stone dead with the right choke shotshell combination...if you want to spend money...buy several different chokes and shells and see what works best and you will still come out with extra money in your pocket....
If you ain't shootin you ain't killin......
