This thread is not complete without some pictures of the ice. This is a 20x60 Phowler boat with a 36 PD. They had 5 guys in the boat and 500lbs of metal for extra weight. They could not break the ice as it was 7-8" thick! This was today in NW TN. The boat was simply sliding up on top of the ice and would not break. Anyone have a tug or a barge we can borrow?

Nice bunch of greenheads! Where was that? Pretty amazing to have open water in a cypress brake.

Yes, I am serious. Many brakes without flowing water have been locked up solid for several days so I was interested to see you had open water. Was just curious about where you were since it looks like a great spot.
