No matter how much you whine, cry, or beg, the majority on here talks about everything under the sun, sometimes the act of duckhunting...but we are dammed sure not going to openly tell you where the ducks are on public waters....not gonna happen...and if forced to talk only about that, then see how many people still log on....this place is like deercamp/duckcamp on a rainy weekend...yes some are gonna hunt, some are gonna talk hunting, but all the others are sittin around the fire shooting the bull with each other....if you dont like it...join another camp

Have to agree with delta.... there are way to many inconsiderate slap d!@*$ duck hunting now ( think it must be a status thing now) with access to sattelite mapping (the root of all evil) to run around telling your favorite places and where you kill ducks, and dont think that they wont be there hunting it the next morning if you do. Now i have no problem taking selected people hunting with me or telling them where i hunt cause very few can i trust not to go back and hunt it the next day. Just my .02

I couldn't care less about anyone talking about/not talking about where the ducks are on public waters.

That said, there's no point in being a jerk either.

delta, i agree, no one would expect you to tell someone where your hunting on public land, i realize you have worked hard to scout your place and maybe hunted it for years, that said i dont think it hurts to say that duck numbers around grenada or tally appear to be on the increase or decrease, not whining, i would not go on another mans spot if he did tell me where it was, but i know some would

Well I suppose I can be serious for one post:

Like it or not, a duck forum is not the best place for "location" or "migration report" info. Even if a broad question is posed such as, "Are ducks between Memphis and 82?", it is still cyberscouting. A duck forum is for equipment tips, technique, guide recommendations, dog training tips, etc.

So, Tips from Turnem:

If the weather man says its below 30 degrees, the "calm-shallow holes" are iced up. Plan on hunting flowing water (river).

Also, the ducks will actually move a little further south when things freeze. Crazy huh.

And....The ducks will move back during thaw, turns out ducks do not like being hot.

Oh, and your ducks that are hanging out in a refuge or river during a freeze WILL feed when it thaws, be in the blind at this time.

Ducks will feed/fly at night, pay attention to the moon phases Ace.

If you belong in a club or lease and can only hunt a few times a year, then make good friends with a local or go with a guide. You want to kill right?

Last but not least, you get what you pay for and public hunting is free.

Go off and play, I have ducks to fillet.
