Jamming benelli sbe-2 question

Postby quack fiend » Fri Jan 08, 2010 1:22 pm

My buddy had a single-shot this a.m., is there a certain lube that these guns like in cold weather? I offered him my old A-5 to use  but luckily he brought his BPS as a back-up. Performance worth the price!

He can use all the lube in the world he wonts, it aint going to work its a Benelli. Been there done that!! Tell him to buy a Beretta and give the Benelli to a hunting partner, that way he can shoot his buddies limit while he is working on his "new" gun!

My Beretta Extrema 2 has hung up since the first box of shells. No problems so far with the Browning Maxus. Had good luck with the Benelli SBE1 also..my Beretta makes a fair trotline weight.

I can fix it! Nothing wrong with any of em. They are all good guns. Just some are more particular than others. I see more problems with the Beretta than any of em from the lack of cleaning it properly. The biggest problem on the Benelli is the recoil spring in the stock! But when right both with shoot with the best of em! I had a SX-3 not feeding shell the other morn when it was so cold. First time I've ever seen that! Field stripped it couldn't find anything wrong. Put it back together and it worked fine the rest of the morning. Sometimes just a small piece of trash will make the best of em stop working!

870's can have problems too! Especially if you pound the hell out of em with heavy loads! I get about 3 to 4 years out of the extractors and ejectors. The next thing to go is the hammers. I can get 5 maybe 6 good years out of one without to much maintenence. They just don't build a gun that can take constant abuse from some of the ammo that's available today!

We'll see in a couple of years just how they will hold up too! That gun hasn't been out long enough to tell yet! Not enough difference in it and the gold or the SX3 internally to say grace over either!

ALL guns will screw up if you do not take care of it.
