Shipley was open ALOT during the game
Congrats to the Tide, they beat everyone that walked through the gate, all that matters.
Are we gonna get wet?

Injuries are part of the game.
That freshmen that got thrown to the wolves is going to be a heckuva of a player. I thought he did a great job considering he took about 20 snaps all year and got thrown into the national championship with a brazilian people watching.

I think Brazilians mostly play soccer, but I could be wrong.

Doc,

I agree the game was a drag to watch. I ,as you can tell am an alabama fan but generally pretty reasonable and certainly hope I am not considered obnoxious as I have seen some on this board to be. And honestly I was a little dissaopinted when McCoy went out because i knew there would be questions/astericks surrounding the win.
I definately think texas came out of the gate firing on all cylinders and we were going to be in for what I thought was going to be a dog fight. I think that bama came out very anxious and nervous and it was obvious. No matter the case that surrounds this game as there are obvious what if's and what could of beens, i really dont see where anyone can say they dont deserve to be this years NC. I know you have not said it but others sure have. They beat a lot of good teams this year, VT,LSU, FL, and TX.

I agree with the doc. This BAMA win was IMO like someone banging the hot chick on a date rape drug. Do you honestly believe that the outcome of this game would have been the same if Colt had been taking snaps? Would BAMA have put that many points on the board with the differences in field position had the McCoy / Shipley connection been rolling?? Really??….I can name 3 TD’s that would have been low probability scores had the starter been driving the offense – not to mention 7 to 14 add ons for Texas had the scenario played out different. At the end of the day – BAMA takes home the title…it’s done. Congrats.

Speculation is fun. It also works both ways. Colt mCoy has a history of not playing well in BIG games.
Bama would have taken care of Texas either way.

Our qb played with 2 cracked ribs. Bama can't help it if Colt is a vag. .

If our #12 gets hurt, the outcome would be the same. If our heisman trophy winning running back gets hurt, the outcome would be the same, only #3 would have had way more yards and 2 more touchdowns. Unless Colt McCoy was planning on playing on defence and stopping our running game, his being out had nothing to do with their defence giving up 4 touchdowns. Bottom line is, the better team won with balance, even though we did not need to pass the ball. Texas had no running game, which hurt them when the qb went down. Run the ball and play defence, that is how you win championships. Roll Tide

Looky here - another sidewalk grad obviously. Surely the U of A would have taught the correct spelling of "defense". Say what you want, but if you have half a brain, you know that Colts absence not only affected the offense, but the D as well.

Comparing cracked ribs to noodle throwing arm is like comparing coots & greenheads sissy.

Big congrats to bammer for their 8th NC. It's really one you should be proud of.

McCoy is a vag..??? He has a history of not playing well in big games?? He is the winningest QB in NCAA Division 1A History....and him playing 4 quarters wouldn't have impacted the outcome of this game?

....but that's football. Shame on Brown for not mitigating risk.

Congrats BAMA
