Got a friend of mine who had an engine blow on his Artic Cat and it is less than 2 years old...old honda has been rode hard, and put up wet...oil hasnt been changed but once and I've got almost 800 miles on it. I have had early 90's models that the oil was never changed. Motor never gave, it was the rear end. And you see how much the used 300's bring...

the one time i was on a artic cat when we got in shin deep water the dam thing quit pulling

thought i was going to have to walk back to my truck to get my 4 wheeler

i have gotten my honda once high centered on some combine ruts and the duckdctr drowned mine out ...... we pulled the plug got the water out and drained the water from a drain plug and she fired right up and ran no water in the oil

my hunting parnters son SUNK his brand new foreman will pulled it out drained the water and she fired right up.

i will stick with honda .... my next purchase will be a big red

Yall have to make sure you get the one with the Suzuki engine.. I will say that AC did have some issues with thier first Engine they built themselves and with the Kawasaki engine they used. The only reason I felt good about buying mine was because it had the Suzuki Eiger 400 engine in it.

I have been around Artic Kitty atv's since the old 454, they are still pieces of crap in my opinion. One of my close huntin buddies has a 650 KItty torn all the way down to the frame in his shed right now, problems consisted of but not limited to: broke cv in R rear axle, stripped gears in front diff, gasket on transmission had a leak, semi-stripped gears in rear end, and two broken tie rod ends. You would think this 4 wheeler was in a wreck by that lis, but it in fact has not only not been wrecked but also not been ragged. It was very well taken care of. He is repairing it and trading it in for a Grizzly 700. If I was gonna get an IRS it would be the Grizzly, if not stick with honda, in my opinion. I have owned almost all types sept a Polaris, Honda has been the best I have had so far.
Damn, i thought I had that one

Is that buddy of yours tryin to blow that call or make love to it?

I have an 07 Rancher 420. It has the electric shift and 4/2wd shifter. almost a thousand miles on it and no real problems yet. I'm a pretty heavy fella and it has plenty of power for me.

+1 on this model, it'll scoot and I ain't very light in the britches

I have to agree. This is what I bought last year., and absolutly love it.

I bought it from Abernathys in Union City TN for 4385.00 out the door. It was a 2008' model and the 2009's were just coming out in Oct of 2008.

I put a 3k lb Warn on it and it will go dang near any where and will carry all I want it to carry. This year I am going to add a lift kit and put on some 26" Swamp Witch tires.

Right know you can get a 2009 Rancher 420FM for $5094.00
