ESPN is reporting Petrino, Stoops and Mullen are on the list to replace Myer. Mullen is the only one to come out and state that he is content in Starkville and looking forward to being the coach of MSU and his future with the team.

Those names are on ESPN's short list not the Gator's. Only Foley knows what Foley is thinking. You people eat that ESPN stuff up like it is the gospel. They are just yepping their mouths and creating drama.
Besides, hasn't Nutt shown that he is the better coach over Petrino. Florida would be a fool to pass Nutt over.

Re: Nutt to Florida?
I doubt Mullen goes to Florida, but I've heard similar statements from other coaches in the past and then they skipped town in the middle of the night.
So until they hire a coach that isn't Mullen then I'll believe he's not leaving MSU.

Duke's head basketball coach once took a year off to have hip surgury, an interim filled in for him till hi return.
It so happened that Duke would be in a major rebuild stage and they stunk it up.
ESPN and other sites are reporting that he's going to sit out next season while an interim coach( the current OC) takes over till his return.

Hey Gumbo - I would be more worried about Petrino and your hogs recruiting than what is going on in Florida.

BMFP will do just fine.
From his four years at Louisville 24 of his players were drafted (20 still in the league). There are 24 players from Louisville in the NFL currently. 20 of them were coached and/or recruited to Lousiville by Head Coach Bobby Petrino. In four years, he produced 20 NFL players at Louisville. Of those 20 only two were rated 4 star players by the great evaluators at Rivals.com (Brian Brohm and Michael Bush only). Of that 20, 12 were 2star players. When you but that 20 up against the approximately 1,000 4/5star prospects from their respective recruiting classes. He does a damn fine job of finding and identifying kids with elite potential when you put him up against Rivals.
If you look closely at the SEC West during that window, only two SEC West teams had more players drafted than Coach Petrino that were recruited and coached in that time frame. The guy is one of the best in the business when it comes to evaluations. If he takes a 2star (which he obviously hasn't done much here so far), you best believe it will be one kick ass 2star like Elton Ford. So far this year he hasn't taken any 2stars unless you count the kicker.
Petrino's Louisville classes were not ranked highly from the get go but if you look at Scouts rerankings after the four year windo is up, those classes rank in the solidly in the top 20. In 2003 Louisville had the 48th ranked class according to Scout...when re-ranked in 2007 based on actual results, Scout ranked the class at 9....in 2004 they were ranked 54th...when re-ranked in 2008, Scout ranked them at 14
Until he fails on the field, and Arkansas has shown nothing but steady improvement, I'll not worry about his recruiting.

Re: Nutt to Florida?
If Florida hired Petrino they'd be idiots. I think he's a great offensive coach but how many more teams will get burned by him leaving early? Florida is arguabley a top five job, they'd bring back Spurrier before Petrino.
Re: Nutt to Florida?
Petrino is exactly where he needs to be.
