Weather that moves birds

Postby Anatidae » Wed Dec 16, 2009 8:07 pm

This is the kind of weather event that pushes birds out....going-on right now in Council Bluffs, IA.

http://www.accuweather.com/us/ia/council-bluffs/51501/forecast-15day.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=1&zipchg=1&metric=0

We just need this to happen in Missouri.......say around Dexter.

I got a call about a guy pulling a camper and a snowmobile through Belzoni today. Should I be preparing for unusual winter weather? Lol!

Most of Iowa has only had a few hours of above freezing temps in the last week. Didn't help our hunt yesterday. Eight guns and 14 birds. Prime hunting area too.

I read this forum everyday but never post, professional lurker!!

I live about five minutes from Council Bluffs and ya'll should see some good movement on Thursday or Saturday. We've got a big storm coming in, freezing rain, sleet and then snow. Friday winds are supposed to be 30 from the NW. There's a ton of geese here and a few ducks if you scout. Most lakes are locked up solid and a few of the streams are too. It hasn't been a great year but hasn't been bad either. Missouri was loaded last week but it'll be tough to keep those birds if they catch a big NW wind, load up on the steel!

Thanks, Husker........it's nice to know what's going-on around the freeze line. 'Hope you have a good season and that you'll chime-in here, more often.
