Down my way there is a several several thousands of acres covered in water...AGAIN. My thinking is the rivers will stay around action stage all winter and just so much as a heavy dew is gonna keep em out all season. Wish I had my boat on years like this. Scouting often and alot is what will set the killers apart this year.

Can't cover much ground with floodstage rivers and a canoe though...

The way this weather pattern is shaping-up North of us, we oughta be seeing some birds around New Year's.........i.e. if the forecast holds-up. I've checked 10-days for Council Bluffs, IA....St. Louis and Dexter, MO......and the 3-5 days of lows in the upper teens and low 20's up ther should make something move. We're supposed to get mid-20's around the 1st.......I'll believe it when I feel it.......but it gives me a little hope that we'll get to work some fatheads in January.

Also, ya'll go ahead and stay home and wait on those fatheads in January!!! I'm having a ball with em right now!!!!!

I remember just a few short years ago, I felt the way you did....that is when I said "im damn glad turkey season and ducks season dont coincide".....i really got bummed out....luckily for me, I have access to private flooded timber, flooded corn fields, etc.....I am thankful everyday....

Here is what I always said to myself when I got in your shoes:

"All of this for a damn duck!"
