Hunted the Tallahachie river area near 32 Fri, Sat, and Sun. Really slow right now. River may crest soon, but no birds right now.

The various groups I hunted with this weekend killed a total of 30 birds. A few mallards, a couple teal and gray ducks, and the rest........SPOONIES. Training ducks, anyone? :) Other than a zillion spoonies sitting in the middle of vast sections of sheet water, I did not see any trading ducks much this weekend. YMMV.
So many ducks, so little time....

Saw a lot of ducks flying high in the south Delta yesterday. The only birds flying low were a few teal and a lot of spoonies. Four limits of spoonies ain't great, but my pup will have a ball with them.

+1
Still haven't seen a good push of birds yet.
BTW, Biggs, I saved you a bowl of that Spoonie gumbo, it was awesome!

Seeing some increase in numbers in Bolivar and Sunflower counties in the Mid-Delta. Had 2 good hunts this weekends, killing limits of mallards both days. These were our first productive hunts of the season.
