Best gloves for duck hunting
Re: Best gloves for duck hunting
I had some promark gloves that were great, waterproof for 6+ years. I used them for hunting and trapping practically everyday in the winter. I eventually wore through them but I still have them. Since then I have gone through 2 pair per year. I have googleed promark and all I get is golfing gloves and such.
I just got a pair of gloves at Academy hopefully they will make it the rest of season. I got the most expensive ones so I am hoping "you get what you pay for" is true (they looked better quality too).
So yes basically all the gloves on the market today are junk.
After these wear out I am going to try wool next.

ohh yeah, don't waste your time with sealz skin gloves, your hands may not actually get wet, but they durn sure feel like it and are just as cold, a buddy of mine got a pair of the cabelas triple diped rubber gloves year before last, he loves'm, and hes still using them and they not split or busted yet

At a WMA, it would be boxing gloves.

I have a collection of "water proof" gloves, maybe 30 pair. I buy 2 or 3 pairs every year. And, not one of them has ever proven to be "water proof". I don't shoot with gloves on, never. The Texas rigs are awesome for limited exposure to cold water.

Got a pair of Glacier Gloves for Christmas three years ago and I'm looking for more. These are the best decoy gloves I've ever used and I want some for my son as well as another pair for when mine start leaking which they don't for now. They are warm and DRY. I use jersey gloves for shooting or a liner with army wool if it's real cold. Jason has some glacier gloves in Grenada but they have a FINGER HOLE for the trigger finger...wtf? I don't want them for shooting gloves!

If there's a lot of shooting going on I don't wear gloves. I don't wear them to put out or pick up deks. Other times its a heavy cotton glove.

Never found a pair worth a crap, wear avery neoprene for pickin up but they have to be replaced every year. Don't wear them cause they muffle the call and make it sound funny. I do keep a pair of good wool mittens with the fingers that can be folded back in case its slow or for the 4 wheeler ride.
Damn, i thought I had that one
Is that buddy of yours tryin to blow that call or make love to it?

never have been able to get used to shooting with heavy gloves on. I usually wear a heavier glove on my hand that holds the gun and a liner glove on my trigger hand. I just keep my trigger hand in a pocket till its time.

Seal skinz suck. Take your right hand with a glove, take your left without. Dip both in the water and tell me which is better...they feel the same. Not durable either. 99cent handwarmers in your pockets are the ticket...

The .99 cent ones by the cash register. Cut the fingures out and there you go. Been using the same pair for 3 seasons now.
