I friend of mine's been carving stocks lately (mostly thumbhole 10/22, A-bolt, Remy 700, and 1911 pistol grips) and been bugging me to let him do one for me. But, I don't have anything nice enough IMHO so I gave him my 30-30 that stays behind the seat. It's probably my favorite rifle and been a constant companion for years. Anyway we picked out some black walnut and he went to work. Yesterday afternoon I got it back and was blown away! This is the first time he's done this snake skin pattern and I must say it turned out great. I wish ya'll could see the highlights as the pics don't do it justice. And I still got a few days left in primitive weapon season to try it out.

Is that your initials on the bottom of the pistol grip?
