Another Fl hunt

Postby JDgator » Mon Nov 30, 2009 12:03 pm

Florida is not just for retires...Its also for ducks!

Had a nice little wood duck hunt with family this thanksgiving.

Thats me, paw-in-law, bro-in-law, and plenty of woodies. At least it was cold enough that we could wade without having to worry about alligators.

Hope you all had a nice thanksgiving too.

I know woodies don't impress anyone in the delta, but they are better than nothing. I was just glad to be enjoying the outdoors.

personally i enjoy eatting woodies and teal more than big ducks, i have very rarely been able to get woodies to work to a call, and i think this is why they are looked on as some what of a trash duck, i am not saying they won't splash your deak just don't generally respond to a call. however if you are good enough to get that pass shot on one in range, they are great table fair. early morning woodies are usually allotta fun

Thanks! Let's definitely get a hunt in. You are right on the location, too.

JD if you come back to sippi you better let me know. Taking you hunting is the least I could do for all the inside info you gave me on LC before I moved down here.
