We hunted private land in Afton, with a friend of my b-n-law, Jim Freeland. We saw several real nice deer in the head lights around the property but never saw them while sitting. Where are youll hunting?

Johnny Glad you had a good trip. We had our most difficult conditions yet across the river. I had a nice deer under me first night with a bow and passed for something bigger. He was by far the biggest buck I saw while there. My buddy knocked a very nice 10 pt down, and he got up, couldn't jump the fence so he nocked it down and the neighbor shot him and refused to give the deer up.

There was about 10% of the corn harvested on the farm we hunt due to wet conditions and it killed the deer movement. The deer moved but stayed in the corn, and as a result we saw few deer. On a normal hunt in the past I'll see 10-20 deer/hunt. This trip my average was about 3 deer/hunt. However that's what mother nature can do to you at times. That's my report, now it's time to go back to whackin' ducks and trout.
