do like I told you to the other day, run a mixture of sea foam and Star Tron in it with each fill up. Im in town for the next 10 days so if you need any more carb work done let me know, as I can do it on the smaller motors and mud motors. I didnt do mine b/c my motor has 3 carbs and they all synkranize togethor and its a pain to set. However I always do my mowers and mudmotors when I had them

Best thing you can do to prevent this is go to your local airport and buy av gas to run in your small engines. The price is higher but no more gas than you will burn the price is well worth it. Av gas which is 100 LL will last through the off season with no additives. We have used this in everything from boats, golf carts, chainsaws, and vehicles and never had any carb trouble no matter how long it sits up. From my experience it is well worth your time and money. By the way, lots of the local airports have a pay at the pump feature now.

Here's another tip for you guys who have to measure and mix your oil in small outboards or other motors....save your empty Sta-Bil container, and fill it with your 2 cycle mixing oil....you can easily measure and pour the correct amount of oil into your gas.

What about ATV engines? Are they made to handle the ethanol gas or does something need to be done special for them. I'm treating my ATV gas with Stabil but it's the red kind and I cut the fuel and run the carb dry every time I put it up.

The biggest problem with ethanol is duration of uses. If the vehicle is used every single day, then it's not a problem. i.e. our cars and trucks that we take to work and so on. In vehicles that get used only on the weekends for a couple hours each day, then you can have problems down the road. I think the seal issue is really on older vehicles. i.e. vehicles that used 100% rubber hoses and gaskets. Newer vehicles use synthetic compounds for hoses and gaskets.

Would a newer 2 cycle outboard oil (synthetic blend with TC-W3) have any negative effects on an older chain saw or older outboard motor? I have been having problems with both lately after fresh fill ups with gas mixed with this type of oil...they both run for a little while and then die.
Or maybe its related to the ethanol?
What is the ratio of the Stabil blue to gas?
