Tis the season

Postby damnyankee » Thu Nov 15, 2001 9:20 pm

Well got the truck packed and I'm ready to head out in the morning. Going to put the decoys out in afternoon, finish some touch up around the blind, throw a fat steak on the grill, drink a few 101s and coke and get ready for another opening day.

I'll tell you there is no day better than opening day, I don't care if you fire the gun or not sob am I ready to go.

The dogs pumped ,amazing she knew it was time before I got my first decoy out, I'm pumped I bet I'm up all night.

I don't remember how many opening days I've been through but they just keep getting better.
Hope we all have a safe and memorable year.

Take Care,

Dogs can tell, at least mine can. We get up early every morning, but last Saturday she knew. How old is your dog? Boeuf is getting to be an old lady now (she is 9). She still loves to go, I guess she will until she goes to hunt up above. Jack

Shoot them sprigs on their first pass!

Damnyankee, it doesn't seem too long ago you were introducing yourself to this crowd when you move on down to God's country! Sounds as if you have made yourself at home in that short time. How about letting us know how you feel about your new home; or, is it home yet! Just thought it would be neat to hear from someone who "ain't from around here" as to how hard/or not it has been getting accepted, making friends, that sort of stuff. You have definitely been a good addition to this board...glad you stuck around.

I'll have to agree with ya'll I think the dogs do know. My lab can see the lights in the house come on before daylight. In the spring, summer, fall, she doesn't say a word, but let it start getting cold, she's worse than a banny rooster at daylight. She'll wake up the whole community till I turn her out. Good luck to ya yank
