Anybody Know Crossbows???

Postby wingmaster_870 » Mon Nov 02, 2009 7:32 pm

Christmas is right around the corner and i'm trying to figure out what to get my dad. I am thinking about getting him a crossbow because due to medical conditions he cant draw his bow anymore. What would be the best bang for my buck. Not looking to spend a ton of money but want something good that will last. Hope to keep it around 8 or 9 hundred. Any information would be great.

Thanks,
B

Man the Ten Points are nice, but if you are ok with spending the 7-9 hundred dollars. Go with the Excaliber line. They are the best ones in my opimion and we get less complaints/returns of them than any other crossbows on the market. They are based on the recurve system and have no cams, so there is way less to go wrong with them.
If you decide to go with them, go with at least the 225lb draw. They are deadly out to 50 yrds for most shooters and come with a draw assist rope that will cut the draw weight in half.
The only negative I can tell you about the Excaliber line is that they are not as compact as the cam crossbows. You can get one set up ready to hunt, crossbow/quiver/4 bolts/ and field tips at Bass Pro for 600 low end and 850 high end. Add a good set of broad heads for another 35 and you will have him set up and ready to go.
