I gotta vote for the Toyo AT. Tire shop I use recomended them and have been pleased. I have a 2wd F-150 and do not get off road very much but they are a very good riding and looking tire. I think they did them $800-$900

As of right now it looks like I'm gonna go with the Firestone Destination A/T's. No one around here carries the Cooper's without special order. The Nitto's are nice and about the same price, but I talked to my buddy and he said he put a set of the firestone's on his truck and he is loving them.
For you Nitto guys.....How quiet are the Terra Grapplers when driving down the highway?

For what it's worth, i have the Firestone Destination M/T's on my F150 and have been extremly satisfied. Got about 25000 miles ont hem and they still look and ride great. No doubt i'll get another 25000 miles out of them. I'd imagine those A/T's will be good tires.

I rotate every 5k miles and I don't hear any tire hum like you would with a mud grip. I used to always run the Yokohoma Geolander AT+II, but they quite making them. Those tires would hum a good bit if you didn't rotate them.
My set ran me $455 for my '03 F150 FX4, stock tire size with 17" rims. Oh and that's installed with mounting and balancing with tire disposal included.

Had some revo duellers by bridgestone. Pretty good. Rightnow I've got some BFG AT's of some flavor. I like them a bit better. Too spendy however. Toyota or nitti next time.

Re: Need a Tire Recomendation
I had Firestones Destinations on my Tahoe they wouldn't pull a ball out of a wet paper sack. Played hell in wet grass in 4x4 pullin a trailer. Then I got a knot on them from pulling a 17ft. Bass boat. These are also the tires they had a problem with blow outs. I like 10 ply for pucture resistance and load capacity. If you have ever had to change a flat in a mud hole you know what I mean. I would go with the Nitto Terra Grapplers I have had them all and they are good tires. I only run M/T's now or I would put them on my truck.
Damn, i thought I had that one
Is that buddy of yours tryin to blow that call or make love to it?

In Mobile, try Fausak Tires. They sell the coopers and are reasonable. Or a little known place called Airport Salvage. We get alot of tires from Fausak though. If you want, PM me and I'll tell you how to get the best deal from them. If you can get the Nittos for les than a grand you're doing good.Ihave an 09 F150 and the nittos are going to run me about $1450 'cause the truck came w/20" wheels.

Goodyear AT's. They are aggressive enough to get you thru the mud but good enough on the road too. They have the kevlar in them. They are pricey but they lasted me 75k miles on my z71.
Re: Need a Tire Recomendation
+1 on the nitto's
At times there is not a satisfactory substitute for well-aimed lead going down range at high velocity.

buckshot maxxis mudders on my ford, less than $1000 for the set. Rides pretty good, and very aggressive. I would recommend them.
Re: Need a Tire Recomendation
50K a year, turnrow to highway. Cooper Disover ST 10 ply or BFG AT 10 ply. I'm constantly impressed at how those BFGs pull, and I know I'll get 65-70K out of em.. Cooper good to but they 50K tire.
Re: Need a Tire Recomendation
I've had no problems out of the destination ATs. Try to keep em rotated and balanced regularly.
