Postby davidees » Sun Oct 11, 2009 8:31 pm

Just bought one a few days ago. For those of you that have one, how's it working for you?

Bought one about 6 years ago...used it one season, sold it and bought a benelli. good guns if you keep them clean, but any mud or dirt in the o-rings and you suddenly have a very expensive single shot.
There are two seasons...duck season and not duck season.

Been shooting 1100's and 1187's for years good shotguns. Do not over lube when cleaning and make sure you replace the rings correctly when you put it back together.

Buck, mine was a few years old--possibly an older model but it def had o-rings...maybe they've made changes since then...? :?:

my back up gun is still an 1187. I shot it for about 12 years in the salt marsh and it works great. It looks terrible and is pretty worn our from years of use, but I like the gun a lot. I don't think you will have any problems with one.

I've never had any problems with mine ( 1187 SP 3" ). The gun does alot better when you just wipe it off, my father cleaned his once a week and didn't have the success I had with mine. The gun of mine hardly ever gets cleaned, its been used for everthing imaginable. Mine has been terrific!! The only thing I don't like is the weight of the gun.

I replace the o ring at the beginning of each season and get reliable use.

I personally think that is man peoples problem with their guns, they clean them and take them apart entirely to much and gunk the gun up with oil and crap. I will never take one apart to clean, PERIOD! like someone said before i give mine a good wipe down when i get home, SOMEITMES, and everyyyynow and then ill spray some cleaner in the action then oil it back up. Never fails to keep on keeping on. JUST MY .02
