Any one who plays guitar
I would go with what duck said. You would be suprised how many country and rock songs can be played with GCD or EAB. I would also try to stick as much as I could to the finger positions outlined in any cord book. It will help you in the long run. (You may have to improvise, I can't make a standard A, I use the last three fingers.) Keep up the practice and when you are comfortable swithching chords go and get some lessons. That will help you with some of the methods that you will see on tabilature (bending, hammering, pulling off, sliding).
Also make sure you string that guitar with Extra Light gauge strings. That will help some with the sore fingers.
