Isn't there a map on the board at the check station that shows you where to go?

From what I understand, 8 ponds are flooded. In my personal opinion, if you flood too many, you have too much water and can't work the birds.

I hunted Muscadine on Saturday and had a very enjoyable hunt. The key to hunting Muscadine or any other area you've never hunted is to carry a map and flashlight with you. It's mighty curious when someone has to have their hand held to go duck hunting.

Just wondering is it mandatory to check in here, or can you arrive and head to your hole. I am drawn for unit five on Thursday morning.

You were joking about calling the manager in the middle of the night weren’t you? That would be phenomenally retarded if you actually did that. hahaha
No sense being pessimistic, it probably wouldn't work out anyway.

The manager is never there to tell ya how to go about things...you are supposed ta know. The Man might be around AFTER to check you. Descent maps and instructions are on the websight and sent by mail and/or email.Scouting ahead of time is your key to inner peace and dead dux...man, I bet that guy was PISSED...send him a Christmas card this year

I hunted there monday morning. No birds. Scouting the property and becoming familiar with your unit is a must. Don't try it before daylight!

Can you imagine the headache of the manager being there at 4 AM every single morning to show people to their stands/blinds? What about on his days off? Who needs to show up then? You would have to have a staff of 30 people on hand to get everyone carted around before shooting time.

Be responsible and scout pre-hunt and study your map. Call and ask questions BEFORE you arrive at 4 AM, preferably several days ahead.

I had the same problem last year. The map was no help. I hunted Unit 1. The map said unit 1 was about 800 yrds from where it actually was. I never found Unit 1 until daylight when I got in my truck and drove around. I was not happy and left them a little "thank you" note on the bag limit card to show my appreciation.

um unit 1 is like the easiest to get to. check in drive north to the last set of ponds, stop get out and walk down the last levee to the left, walla when you get to that last four ponds ad are standing in the middle of all 4 you have found unit 1.

Just think of it this way: Would you show up at your hunting camp or lease on opening day, having never seen any of the holes nor scouted around, and expect to be able to find the blind in the dark?

Every year we have members to show up, don't know where anything is, expect us to take them to the blind and then bitch about not killing birds......LOL
