I DID! I just didn't expect to see Auburn rush for 400 yards and hang 49 points on our D. MSU DC, Carl Torbush needs to strung up by the nuts for letting this happen. Mahlzan schooled his booty big time.

The dogs looked to be in good shape after the punt block for a TD, which gave them a 17-14 lead and the momentum. But, the wheels started falling off the cart on the next Auburn series, with Auburn finally figuring out that MSU could not stop the running game. The big mo changed back to Auburn and it was all Auburn after that.

I was surprised to see this as well. I thought it would be the MSU offense that would struggle, not the D. But, if you can't stop/contain the run, you just can't win in the SEC. Giving up that many running yards is unusual for an MSU D.

dixon looked good as usual, that blue gum qb looks good, rice punted well..... the rest didn't look to spiffy. there d-line especially. Is the defense line that bad, AU offensive line that good? thoughts?

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.

I do not like a 3-4 defense at all. Got to get some meat up there.

The whole second half I was thinking..... Why in the h*** do we only have 3 men on the D-Line when they are running the ball down our throats?? But what do I know I'm not the D-Cooridinator....

one thing that blew my mind was the inability to stop kodi burns. i can understand once, but 4 times - come on! it should have been very predictive what was about to happen when he came in the game - right?

Hell, i could have thrown for 400 yards if I had that much time in the pocket, and I can't hardly see over the line :D . Our front 7 looked awful.

We were doing well until AU began to expose the same weakness that JSU discovered and unveiled to everyone watching- we cannot defend the speed route deep ball. Once they did this, we started playing back and that opened up their run. From there on, they had us on our heels guessing whether they'd run or pass next. After a couple more scores, we were so far behind, it didn't matter. I think our secondary is our greatest weakness. If it was not for that, we could have left more men in the box all night and possibly slowed the run. The other side of this coin is that our weak secondary allowed them to shoot holes through our defense and score points, which put us way behind and forced us to try to pass a lot, which is our other greatest weakness. They knew our weaknesses and exposed them - BIGTIME. Teams like Florida will expose these with surgical precision if we do not do something different.

Dixon needs to man up too. I've watched him hesitate when he gets to the line for four straight years. I'm sick of it. Other backs from other schools get way more yardage on up the middle plays because they don't slow down! He's a 240lb. running back; he needs to hit the line wide open. He'd gain yards on sheer inertia alone! I hate to say it, but I don't want him to break Norwood's record for all time rushing yards. Norwood was a way better back. Look at number of attempts versus number of total yards. That stat tells all. Dixon has all the potential in the world physically; I just think he lacks heart or grit. I'm not sure which.

d line and o line are both young and that's why we got beat, both they re lines are experienced and have the size to manhandle us. yes torbush should have loaded the line up but the secondary is weak so you can coach your butt off but if you aint got the horses you aint got the horses. also no one is mentioning how chaney got manhandled the whole game, he definitely didn't look all sec and i know he can be so lets hope he improves before this week.

i still liked what the offensive was able to do even with a young oline, i think we have some playmakers be it they may be inexperienced. the berry kid looks real good and i think mullen held bumpis out of the game to long. i know he made some bone headed plays in his first game but dont punish him for the majority of the game, he's got the size and speed we need if we gonna be playin catch up ball all year and it looks to be the case with our defense :(
