Here's something else to think about..Vehicles have to have Tags, Inspection Stickers, Blinkers and Tail lights to ride on the road..

Why Don't bikes have to follow the same rules..I mean I know it doesn't have a motor but the rules are there for Travelers safety aren't they???

actually human life means alot to me.

The problem is that people have so many "rights" that they want to use. you have the right to jump off of a bridge and I wont stop you. You feel you have the right to ride a bike down a busy narrow road putting your life in danger. I wont stop you but i wont lose any sleep over what ever happens to you.

Sorry I just don't and refuse to see things your way. With that logic of thinking would mean I shouldn't feel sorry for you or your family if one of your hunting partners blows you head off in the pit jumping up to shoot a flock of ducks. I mean you know it can happen being around guns and you chose to put yourself in that position b/c it's your right.

as i said in my 1st post i feel for his family. they are the ones who are really feeling the pain from this useless tragedy. The family will always be the ones suffering in cases like this. I have never said that i do not have sympathy for them.

I lack sympathy for a cyclist putting his self and others in danger. i guess we may disagree there.

i have fairly simple beliefs. they revolve around the theory "if you do the crime then do the time", and you get what you ask for. I live by the theory myself. i ride racing three wheelers that will do 90 mph. early this year i got thrown off one doing about 60 mph. i ended up in a barb wire fence and was very lucky with only minor injuries. my 3 year old got to me 1st. i was unable to get up and had her go get momma. I felt HORRIBLE about putting her through that. I sold what was left of that bike and have not been back on one since may. It is a sport that i enjoy but it is not worth the danger and the pain to my family.

you can make your choice. If you get squashed on a narrow two lane road by jacked up 4x4 that either did not see you or could not dodge you in time then i will not feel sympathy for you. I will feel for you wife and kids who are now father less from excercising his rights. Now if some drunk plows you over then i am all for giving him the death sentence but your family will still be the ones missing you.

I don't agree with all of the comments made but i do agree that If you Put yourself in that situation, then your asking for trouble..Think of this...

If you go Skydiving..and your chute doesn't open..it's no one's fault but yours for jumping out of the airplane

fair enough for both sides, cyclists stay single file and folks give them a little room

if giving you "room" forces me to cross the center line then no it is not fair to me or the other motorist. sorry. how about you pedal fast enough that i do not have to pass you? sounds fair to me.

You aren't "forced" to cross the center line. You know you can slow down for a second and wait for a safe time to pass.

I beg to differ..I have been forced over the center line and most of the way in the other lane because this guy on a Bike swerved over and like to made me hit him. Good thing there was nothing coming. The thing most of you are missing is that everyone that rides a bike, on a major highway, is not SUPER safe and Doesn't always make GREAT judgments. You have riders that do the stupidest things and make people almost wreck, even though they are trying to give them space.

The bike issue is just like Duck Hunting and Life In General....It only takes one bad apple to ruin a Bushell!!!
