Update from Vegas at the National Pool Championships

Postby Dutch Dog » Mon Aug 24, 2009 2:50 pm

Our team doesn't play til 930 tonight (Vegas time...1130 Central). I got to play Alison Fisher last night in an exhibition match. She had just ran out on the previous 17 people....but not this boy!!! I broke, didn't make a ball, she ran 5 balls and scratched trying to break out her 6th ball. I took "ball in hand" and ran the table. It was great...running out on the worlds #1 ranked pro woman...the "Tiger Woods" of pool in front of a large crowd. Definitely the highlight of my pool playing days!!!! I know I got lucky in that she missed and scratched, but still excited nonetheless. I'll update every now and then and hopefully put up some more pics as the week goes along. We got some pics of Jeanette Lee "The Black Widow" too. I may play her this afternoon just for kicks and grins.

pure awesome. Did you record your game against Fisher? Get some pictures of Lee, she's a looker.

When I played on my dad's team we were one game away in Tri-Cup from going to June Distributor and lost out. My dad has since given up APA and is playing in an in-house SLAPP league. He likes it as it's quick and he's back home for 9:30 given their 7:30 start time. The highest you can be in SLAPP is a 27 and you have to break and run 3 games each night of shooting for 6 weeks straight.

I can read Fisher's face in that she is saying I'm smiling, but this mofo spanked my butt and I didn't like it.

No games played for us tonight. Our 1st game is at 8 in the morning....thats 10 Central time. There are 701 teams out here competing for the National Title....so that makes it 350 1st round matches and 1 bye best I can figure. Anyway, that's the update for today. Oh yeah, they changed it from a modified single elimination setup to just a single elimination setup...you lose and you're done. Hopefully we'll last a little while!!! Played a couple practice games today and my game is on. I'd say I broke and ran 4 or 5 games between last nights practice and tonights.

So you broke and didn't make a ball. The girl makes five balls and scratches. You get ball in hand and make the other four to beat a girl. :D. And I am assuming since you aint braggin, that J.Lee handed you a big L so you got beat by a girl .

Jk that would be awsome just to play either A.F. or J.L. And you got to play both that is very cool. Best of luck to you and your team.

No, we were playing 8 ball, so I took ball in hand and ran 8 balls. I didn't get a chance to play Jeannette Lee yet. Kelly Fisher is here too...hadn't played her yet either. Robin Dodson is here, Mike Massey is here, Tom Rossman is here, Andy ??? trick shot guy is here.

Yeah, thats him!!! We won our match this morning. It's a best 3 out of 5, we won 3 straight against a team from Omaha Nebraska. Lemme tell ya, those jokers can shoot!! I played a STRONG 7 (highest ranking you can get) and luckily beat him...he had to spot me 1 game in our race...having to win 5 before I won 4. I think I won 4-3...he broke and ran 2 racks on me for 2 of his 3 wins. Got some pics I'll try to load up later.

she messed with this guy so bad. She would reach in front of him for the chalk. Get real close while he was shooting. Talk to him. It was funny. Even better was this guy never missed. :)
