Its not the snakes you have to worry about, its all those d@mn mosquitoes you need alot of spray and two thermocells to sit on each side of you. the first time i went early teal hunting i thought that humming sound was a near by generator.......its wasnt!!!!!
Surely the longer a man duck hunts the wealthier he becomes in experience,in reminiscence,in love of nature,if he goes out with the harvest of a quiet eye, free from the plague of himself

Are these skeeters worse than a freshly irrigated corn field bout half way through the season?
Damn, i thought I had that one

Is that buddy of yours tryin to blow that call or make love to it?

In a bad skeeter spot, what i have recommended, brings them back down to the corn field---w/o it they will tie you up, carry u to the Skeeter cave and molest u with their skeeter nose

We don't have skeeters where I hunt just Mississippi pterodactyls. I took a picture from the blind one time, they look like this....

very simple stuff.....

lots of gators- dogless.

chance of snake- meless.....

this is while i have yet to ever hunt early teal season.

yes, i would rather skip it and not see snakes.
If it wasn't for bad luck then i would have no luck at all........

Leave your dog at home and dont stand to close to any thick brush or low limbs. Its sux when you realize you are sharing the sunrise with a pissed off viper :o

maybe i am naive, but i have hunted hard every teal season for the past 6 years in 5 states, including FL and GA and never thought twice about taking my dog or going because of snakes or gators. Closest call i ever had with my dog was from an Otter in South Ga., watch out for those.

Gear Out

were you teal hunting on Lake Seminole by chance in SW GA?

if so, you might not have seen any gators but I can assure you that there were plenty that saw you.
but then on the other hand, i don't think i've ever seen an otter on Seminole

Still in Statesboro, wishing I was a few hundred miles west. Oh well, the snapper/grouper/kingfishing is very good.

Lets get together for a Fl hunt sometime in December or Janurary.
