Father in Law Question

I ain't been married but two years, don't have kids yet, but ya'll are gonna hear my opinion.
Somebody doesn't agree, i'll cry about it later.

It's YA'LLs child. If Gramps did something and you didn't agree, by dam let him know about it. My wife would never question me if I said something to her father about a sensitive issue such as OUR children and him trying to undermine them.
Now my wife knows me, and she knows that if that happened to us, I would not hesitate to nip that in the bud. I would treat it the same way if my parents did it.

Have you told your wife it bothers you. That would be the first step. Then after that it'd be game on.

let him know that its your child and you will discipline he/she as you wish. tell him he already had his turn at raising a child, your wife, but now its my turn to raise my child and i have standards for which i would like to raise my child. be firm, no beating around the bush. if you try and discipline and he's constantly back stabbing you to your child, there is a problem..

what he said, and try not to discipline your child in front of him if you can, all that is going to happen is the child will go to him and you end up being the bad guy.

I respectfully disagree,I would whip my child in front of him ifn they needed it and if he had something to say then whip his booty too.
