Drew is a good area, but that doesn't mean squat. You need to be more specific. Just because there is a good duck hole in one place doesn't mean that a field or slough just across the road is going to be good also. It is important to get at least a 10 year history of the property and be able to see for yourself if ducks are using it during duck season. Too many people make the mistake of looking at a piece of property after the season when there is no hunting pressure or even during the summer months when there is no water on it and the ducks have long gone back north.
If you don't have anymore info on the history of the property than what you posted, it sounds to me like you bought into a crap shoot at best. But maybe not.

Sometimes I forget that not everyone has been duck hunting for several years and get caught up in what I think is a silly question or statement. I got to thinking after my post, what if the poster was just some newbie kid? Hell, we all were at some point in time.
Appologies to Browning007, please come back and join us and welcome to ducksouth.com.

Sometimes you need to be firm to get the point accross. I have been screwed before, so take Don's advice and get the history. Also, make sure you have everything set forth in a written contract and don't even think about paying cash. I paid $1700 bucks for 1 teal once because I was told the lease was the bomb. At least I didn't let the only bird that came into the hole get away. :(

I have to admit I paid dearly for a $#%hole back in my second yr of hunting. Had a jam up hole the first yr and had the lease bumped by 5000 the next yr. We went down the road and leased another great looking hole and killed 2 ducks for 1200 bucks. Bought lessons are never forgotten.

You are correct. I don't think either one of us killed a duck on that hole. The 2 ducks killed were by guests. I have not forgot your limb saw just thought my wife returned it. Should have known better. Got back from the beach and saw it in garage. Will return by Monday.

There's some really good duck hunting in Beinville Nat'l Forest in Scott county and on Desoto Nat'l Forest in Forrest and Perry counties.
I ain't hunting, it's a tailgate party with shotguns.
