Anyone been to Venice recently?
Heading down next week. Need to fill the freezer. Anyone hit the tuna in the last few weeks?

Had a friend get back Sunday. They are killing it. 8 yellowfin and 1 blackfin. After the tuna wore them out, they hit the rigs and caught their snapper in 20 minutes. He said they left them biting. Because of him, I will be having very lightly grilled yellowfin tonight.

How many miles is it to the green canyon??
Re: Anyone been to Venice recently?
Depends upon what part of Green Canyon, it runs almost the entire length of the state.
Yes offshore action is very good, blue water is getting closer right now with the river finally settling down, of course there's a slug of dirty water in it right now as it's rising a little bit. Blue water is about 60 miles out right now, in another month or so it will be much closer.

Went not long ago and there are so many snapper you can get your limit of 2 just about as soon as it hits the water. Same went for amberjack. Our day long trip ended up in search of mangrove snapper to add to the cooler. Good trip wish they would up the limit in LA waters so maybe we could fill the freezer...kinda hard to do on 4 snapper fillets.
