a lot of big deer has been killed in the amite, franklin, adams areas. there's a lot of gov't woods over in that area so you might wanna check into that. it would suck to buy a place that is surrounded by arrogant assholes from out of state. but other than that it's hard to be to specific without knowing some info bout the place. overall this portion of ms is pretty good for deer hunting. check out the magnolia records for some deer taken from franklin co.

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.

If the money is right, go for it. Several nice deer taken from there.

lots of pine trees, lots of BS....lots of scraggly racked cutover deer....honestly between the locals hunting your property all week and the coona$$e$ all over the county all weekend, I would be VERY VERY selective on property in Franklin Co. There are undoubtedly some very good places, but Franklin Co. is by in large the most pressured and poorly managed/maintained place I've been around. Gleaned is the best word to describe the wildlife around those parts...

BTW, I am from Adams and my wife and her whole family live right in the middle of Franklin, so I'm not giving you just a passing opinion based on having hunted around there on the weekends. My in-laws have couple hundred acres they live on that is not hunted, and the pressure all around is so bad that you can't kill a deer on their land...

heck it sounds like greene co. it seems like very other county i pass threw ill see deer jus stand along the highway and turkeys jus walk around and feed like they dont have a care in the world. not in greene county. turkeys dont dare to step out in a field and once a deer sees headlights there gone. its rediculous

well, I'm sure that there are some good places in Franklin Co. I am just saying to be be selective cause alot of the county is pressured out this world and alot of it has been cut too, and alot of the reason is there is a lot of public hunting between Hommochito, Sandy Creek, and Caston Creek.
