Hey, ole timer! When are you coming over here this year? "The" hole has water in it now, and with a few more cold fronts, it'll have mallards and one white boy in it. Do you think you'll make it over before Christmas or what? Oh, also found another spot close by that looks like a goodun. I've seen the birds work it before, but never knew how to get to it. Well, I went round and round it the other day, and I believe I can get us back there.

In my advancing age, I am having a hard time remembering when you guys get to start the season this year! What are the dates for the season as it stands today, without all the supposition about more days? I know the dates go to the end of Jan., I don't have the beginning date, though. I would love to come over for a hunt. The only weekend that I can't is Dec. 15, 16. I can get a long weekend on any other, though. I would love to come during the week, but with the end of the semester coming then, I have to stick pretty close to the school. You pick a date and I will do my part and force myself to come over there and hunt with you. Now, me being the old man, and all...you do tote and put out the decoys as well as fetch and clean the ducks don't you. That's the way I always did it when I was young and took the seniors huntin! See, I've developed a new method for putting out the dekes in those "hard to get to" places. I fly over the afternoon before, drop out two sacks and the dog and then boat in the next morning. If you'd like, we can rig up a bedsheet for ya and drop you out too! You need to practice, though. That beaver lodge looks like an ant hill from 300 feet and will be hard to hit. Just try jumping from the chimney onto the hood of your car. I could get lower, but the tupelo trees might pose a problem. Dec 1-2, 8-9 and 15-jan 30 is the season for now. I can't go the first weekend. Let me know.

I will get with the social chairman at home and let you know in the am. Sounds good, though.
