We might be able to work something out, but you would have to wear a blindfold going in, and coming out of the spot...

Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

Is this for real, or just a clever way to get around paying to advertise?
Re: SC turkey hunt for MS duck hunt
sounds like dude has a some great turkey hunting and wants to just trade for a good duck trip. I have some buddies in that area and their place is covered with turkeys. I don't see him trying to sell a trip at all.
There will be a day....

Sorry for being a skeptic. Just smells like a cut and paste add.
Re: SC turkey hunt for MS duck hunt
This stuff is done a lot. We are actually in a trade right now with a guy from Canada. He goes on a hunt with us down here in the timber and we go on a black duck hunt with him. We both think we are getting the better end of the deal.

I understand the whole idea of trading hunts/fishing trips and have done it before too. Just seemed like a bit of an oversell. That and the fact that Colbys joined today made me question it. Probably is legit and I don't mean to give dude a hard time about it, but similar posts in the past (wakemakerducks, etc...) make me skeptical.

except with wakermaker there was money exchanged which means it is for sale, this guy is not asking for any money just saying you pay for licenses for yourself, its actually done on here more than you think, guys swapping fishing trips for hunting trips or small game hunts (rabbit, quail, etc.) for styles of hunts people dont have regular access to

Re: SC turkey hunt for MS duck hunt
Im kinda skeptic myself, if it sounds to good to be true it usually is. Anyone here have an idea how much it cost to take out a 61 sportfish on the east coast for a blue water trip fuel alone? Im saying at min. several hundred gallons of diesel? or Golf at prestigous clubs 150$$ a round. Why wouldnt this guy just get themselves a guide or pit in Arkansas, hell Canada. a 61 sportfisher from a quality boat maker will run you a million and a half or more...if you own 15000 acres anywhere you aint hurtin for money oor a place to hunt anything!!! boys, there's more to this, I can guarantee!! Probably the caretaker taking advantage of his boss, lol

I can understand your position and the others' for being skeptical. But rest assured, I can promise you that this is as legit as you'll ever want to see something. We do not have a website. We are not an outfitter and this was by NO means a form of advertising or an attempt to gain any monetary status. Just a good old-fashioned swap!
The total for the boat is usually around $2200 if we get customers that abide by the customary 15% tip. Thats a full 12hr trip to the gulf stream. The boat belongs to a close friend that hunts with us. The boat/captain/mate won the annual "The Big Rock" blue marlin tournament a couple years ago with a blue that weighed in over 600lbs and took the $1.3M purse. When we fish the boat our only expense is the cost of fuel.
Both golf courses, True Blue and Caledonia, are owned by one of the guy's grandfather! Usually this time of the year, one round is a little over $100. During spring, the peak season, a round will double in cost, you do the math.
We AREN'T hurting for a place to hunt, trust me. I know that may come off in the wrong way but we are just fine in that department. We are just looking to create a friendship and possibly start an every year deal.
No need to lease a field/pit that is 13 hours away, that we would use maybe 3 times a year. With the ever increasing prices/rates of land, we would never see our money's worth. You are not a business man are you? Why would any smart, legit person want to sink thousands and thousands of dollars into something that you wouldn't see it come back out of when you could use the available resources on hand and bargain. We figure...Hey, why dont we take a few resources we have and offer them up for a fair swap for resources that we dont have. In this particular case, the resource that we are seeking is obvisouly duck hunting at its best!
Like many have mentioned above, this is a fairly common practice. We have been burned a few times in the past but that comes with the territory. On the other end of the spectrum, we have also formed some very valuable friendships and memories over the years.
Is there any more information that i can help you with?
thank you to all who replied and showed interest but we really lucked up and got hooked up with some really good folks. thank you for your time and consideration.
Very Respectfully
-Ian
