I was just wondering about Tunica Cut-Off. Me and a friend of mine were thinking about going there for a change of scenery. We have had the worst year I can imagine ever having, NO DUCKS to speak of so we though about just getting out somewhere new.
Thought about asking some of you guys who may have hunted it if it was worth the trouble, are there any birds, alot of hunting pressure and is it hard to find a huntable duck hole.
Any help or tips you guys can give would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
Tunica Cut-Off
We went there a couple of weeks ago when it was 14 degrees and the whole entire delta was frozen solid. That is when the ducks are forced into the cutoff and is suppose to be the "best" time to hunt em. We killed 2 on tuesday and 2 on wednesday. Nothing but a bunch of skyblasters down there. Don't waste your time on getting there early and trying to get yourself a hole. Someone is going to come in at daylight and set up right next to you anyway. As far as hunting pressure goes there is quite a bit of it this year. I posted a couple of posts earlier in the year about our hunting endeavors and they will enlighten you a bit. I would tell you that if you do go there to stay away from Charlies camp and to launch at the other one...it may have changed names, but it use to be called Kingstons. Oh yeah unless you have 5 or 6 twirlies, you won't stand a chance..everyone else has that many or more.
charlies camp
charly has the hole to the right of the boat ramps covered up in floating blinds and thinks he owns the place.i watched one blind take ducks back to the truck several times and keep on huntin.also be careful cuz come daylight there will be hidden blinds all around you and a buddy of mine that lives there had his boat sabotaged last weekend with a drill bit.ol charly and his group are up to thier old games again so becareful.
they were blackin the sky

Hey fella's I listen to enough of your BS about Charlie and his Camp. I cant defend everyone but you guys if you think Charlie is behind the crap you both listed here then why dont you just walk up to him and tell him this to his face. Bashing him because you had a runin with gayle is not fair nor is it right. Maybe all the problems you guys have talked about is really based in your actions and not anyone elses. IF tunica cutoff is such a problem then why are you still going there and putting in at Kingstons aint going to change it either. Come on fella's this guy has a business to run and why in the hell would he intentionally hurt his own income?
Naw, I don't think Charlie is behind it, and I was told by someone earler today that YOU just may be Charlie yourself. In the same breath, the fella that told me that also told me that Charlie is a pretty good fella. All I am saying is this, If you don't want to be hassled by Gayle at the ramp, launch at the other ramp. Its kinda like why would I go to the Mall of Memphis and get robbed, hassled by rude store clerks, have to put up with the local "element" when I can go to another mall. Charlie's camp aint the only ramp at the lake, and the Mall of Memphis isn't, well WASN'T the only mall in Memphis. If Charlie is so concerned with his business, then he needs to get Gayle to leave folks alone...Just like in the Mall of Memphis analogy I used earlier, eventually, if he continues to let some folks slip by and be totally illegal riding out onto the lake, then make the next boat show him that everything works on their rig, right down to their trailer winch, then they are going to find somewhere else to launch and guess what...it's only 100 yards away! The only time I launch there is when I am not driving and I am unable to persuede the driver to go to the other ramp. As far as Charlie having blinds to the right of the ramp, let him, he's set in his ways and has been hunting that area for a LONG LONG time. I personally don't like to shoot open water, It's hard to get the ducks to decoy to within 50 yards and that makes for a LOT of educated ducks and very few dead ones. Oh yeah, there is some goofball standing at the ramp nearly every morning telling folks he killed the heck out of them down near the runout???? Is this guy nuts or what?

Whats funny is your goofball who the heck would sit on a ramp in the cold just to bs a duckhunter? and you know if he was telling people that then way before now someone would of thrown him in the river....
