Now Hambone, you know you have a standing invitation to hunt out West, if you can tear yourself away from Coahoma County for a few days.

What you ought to do is set up a hunt on a Monday through Thursday next year. That way you won't miss a weekend away from home.

SoftCall, It has taken me years to get my first band. In the last three years I have taken two bands a year and one was a Jack Miner.
I got one last Friday in Bolivar County. Maybe getting older helps. :)

I had a friend call this am from Macon County, Alabama and he killed a double and they were both banded, 2 hen mallards. This is the first time I have heard this. I killed a banded pintail drake last week and my hunting partner got a banded gadwall. These are our first bands of the season and they came from Tallahatchie Co. The band on the pintail has the numbers worn down, looks to be fairly old.

I've hunted 25 years, bagged 726 ducks and have 11 bands. 10 Federal and 1 Jack Miner. Eight were Mallards and three were Wood Ducks.

The bands i got seemed to come in bunches. I believe groups of banded ducks travel together.

That means my average is 66:1.
