Pssst! Hey guys....GC's gone for the week......he's gonna be real anxious to see how many responses he got from this, when he returns. Why don't we give him a warm welcome home by putting a bunch of lawyer jokes on here. I'll start. hehehe Don't tell him it was my idea, O.K.?
Hey, Mark......I went to the duck camp this weekend. I was really hoping you could come hunt with us, but I noticed a sign on the wall. It said ...No Trespassing!! .....Prosecutors will be 'Violated' to the full extent of the Law!!

Gone hunting....
Had a great time. Weather was unseasonably warm and dry. That, combined with a really harsh winter that depleted the pheasant population, made the birds really spread out. We (10 people) got our limits on wild birds every day, but we walked a lot to do it. No limiting out in 2 hours like in previous years.
Since the weather was so dry, the birds did not need to eat as much as in cold weather, so we found them bedded down in CRP grass in the draws, rather than in the corn like every other time that I have been out there. We saw very few hens this time out, about even hens to roosters. Usually you see 10 to 1 hens. Had to go with a lot tighter choke if you were winging, since they were holding close on the drivers, and then peeling out into the wind. Those that did not hold close flushed wilder than march hares, and the wingers had to really earn thier birds.
We saw plenty of birds in the potholes, which had water this year, unlike the last 2 years. The local boys told me that they have more mallards right now than they had ever seen. Saw lots of canada geese, cacklers and snows flying about, and plenty of mallards and greyducks in the potholes.
I sure wish I could have stayed another week!
